How We Got Started

We are extremely Proud of the level service and honesty that we bring to our Clients. This all started almost on accident 6 years ago when our founder was running my Small Freight Brokerage remotely from Medellin Colombia with a small team here. one of his clients was having a dificult time finding an internal logistics cordinator and Dave jokingly told him he could hire him an employee out here for a fraction of the cost and train him to handle whatever they needed. He was brave enough to take Dave up on the offer and we quickly found a candidate that had just graduated with their masters degree in International business and supply chains.

We spent 2 weeks getting that person trained up on the client companies internal proceedures, helped our client open their own MC# in order to book direct with trucking companies and within 3 months had brought all of Their freight direct to the truck saving them over $150,000 on their over all monthly logistics expenditures.

Today 6 years later that same individual we hired to handle his logistics department is still with them and their team here has grown to and addtional 6 individuals. In that same time we have repeated this process with over a dozen other clients growing our team to over 100 team members and managing over 1 million dollars worth of freight per day for our clients.

Dave Sherman Founder/CEO

Dave Graduated From Sacramento State with a Degree in Mechanical engineering and upon graduating promptly disapointed his mother and moved to Puerto Rico to Open up a freight borkerage. Since then he has created and sold two sucessful Freight brokerages, Owns a trucking company based out of Chicago IL, and a sucessful Dispatching company called Victoriam dispatch. His main focus now is in the consulting feild for our new clients to review their logistics operations to identify and implement easy changes to save them money outside of just staffing.

Tracie Nakagawa Operations Manager

Tracie graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has worked in operations for over 15 years in the hospitality, logistics and transportation industries. While she cut her teeth learning from old school guys in the transportation industry, her passion lies in bridging the gap between the old school and new school. She began as a client of Dave’s in 2017. In 2021, while looking for a change of pace and scenery from Los Angeles, she began working with First Colombian Companies. Her main focus now is making sure our teams are operating at peak eficiency and we are delivering quality operations to our clients.

Joahan Higuita Head of HR and recruiting

Johan graduated with a masters degree in International Business from University of Medellin. He has worked in the logistics industry for 7 years, 6 of those with FC Companies. His experience includes customer service, team training, Logistics cordination, recruitment marketing, and team management. He started out as a broker and developed himself into a management level team member, coordinating and keeping his team focused on reaching its goals. Johan Manages our sizable recruitment office and bridges the gap to keep our potential employment pool full of qualified motivated indviduals.
